In collaboration with Residence, our client, Paint & Paper Library, hosted an inspiring color masterclass on Thursday, October 27, at the ETC Design Center in Culemborg. Paint & Paper Library is a distinguished British paint and wallpaper brand that has been available in the Netherlands for five years through exclusive paint and wallpaper dealers. Paint & Paper Library is the sister brand of Little Greene, and both brands fall under The Little Greene Paint Company. Founder and CEO David Mottershead, along with his daughter Ruth Mottershead, Creative Director, came to the Netherlands to share insights about color with the readers of Residence, specifically focusing on the application of color in interior design.

During a morning and afternoon session, many color topics were discussed. Ruth and David talked about the power of color, the relationships between color combinations and what to pay attention to, the effects of different lighting conditions on color, why some colors match and others do not, how to apply color in various ways in interior design, and how to play with the application of color on architectural elements. Both bold color schemes and calming color palettes were covered. Although the latest color trends were certainly highlighted, the focus was on the fact that choosing color is a personal matter. It’s about selecting colors that make you feel good, regardless of current trends.

It was a colorful day! About 60 Residence readers attended the Paint & Paper Library color masterclass and went home inspired. Not only with many new color insights but also with a well-filled goody bag to get started at home.
