The British paint and wallpaper brand Little Greene has been committed to Breast Cancer Month in the UK for many years and has also been doing so in the Netherlands for nine years. Throughout the entire month of October, Little Greene donates a portion of the Dutch sales proceeds from paint cans and wallpaper rolls to Pink Ribbon, in support of breast cancer research and awareness.
Little Greene continues to support Pink Ribbon this year during the October breast cancer month. For every paint can and wallpaper roll sold, Little Greene donates €0.50. This support applies to all products sold in October 2024 through Little Greene dealers in the Netherlands and on www.littlegreene.nl. By choosing Little Greene in October, customers actively contribute to research and the improvement of breast cancer treatment.
Last year, Little Greene raised €35,000 for various international breast cancer causes and hopes to surpass that amount this year. Over the past 13 years, Little Greene has raised more than €225,000 for organizations dedicated to fighting breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women in the Netherlands. Each year, approximately 18,000 women receive a breast cancer diagnosis. Pink Ribbon supports these women by raising funds for projects and research aimed at prevention and improved treatment of breast cancer. Aftercare also remains a priority. Although survival rates have significantly improved over the past decades, more than 3,000 people still die from this disease each year. Therefore, research remains essential.
Ruth Mottershead, Creative Director of Little Greene: “It is fantastic to raise money for charities that truly make a difference on a very personal level for those undergoing breast cancer treatment and for the individuals and families affected during a sad and traumatic time. Each year, we select charities where our donations can have a significant impact, and these charities have been chosen with a focus on providing invaluable emotional support to those undergoing breast cancer treatment.
I am always amazed by the fantastic support from our customers and our network of dealers. Every October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is wonderful to see our entire team rally behind such an important campaign to raise funds for these vital non-profit organizations, which provide necessary support to individuals and their families.”
Indira Balgobind, Brand Manager for Pink Ribbon: “We are grateful for the long-standing commitment of Little Greene to Pink Ribbon. Thanks to this support, it is possible to fund important and necessary breast cancer research. This is still urgently needed because, in the Netherlands, 1 in 7 women receive a diagnosis. Thanks to research, these women receive, among other things, better treatments.”
